November 12, 2018: Apple announces a solid-state drive replacement program. (Apple has not yet responded to a request to comment on the record about the frequency of its repair and recall notices.) It’s a surprising number of issues for a product line that is emblematic of the company itself and, in the case of the MacBook Pro, one that Apple insists is the “world’s best pro notebook.” The company’s laptops have been the subject of no fewer than five repair notices, including this latest recall, in the past year alone. Apple sells millions of computers per year-18 million Macs were sold in 2018-so even a substantial number of impacted machines could still be considered “limited.” Call it a different kind of theory of relativity.īut the recall is not an isolated incident when it comes to modern versions of Apple’s premium, expensive laptops. The battery issues may very well only apply to a “limited number” of laptops, which is what the company almost always says when there’s a problem with its hardware. The batteries, according to Apple’s support page, “may overheat and pose a fire safety risk.” The recall is said to affect 15-inch MacBook Pros with Retina displays sold between September 2015 and February 2017, and Apple is replacing batteries for free on eligible laptops. Please Aplee, Give me a Better Solution.Earlier today Apple announced a recall for some of its MacBook Pro laptops because of problematic and potentially hazardous batteries. I choose Apple because of your quality, but now seem like a very wrong decision. I have been through appointment, and they have been quoting me a prices of RM1000 ++ to fix the issue. Two model were being use in a very same manner, with only 16x charge cycle and the battery sate show "normal", and why only one of the MacBook's battery got bloated? Don't you think this is manufacturer fault? and YOUR customer being the VICTIM to bare the cost for repairing?. I purchased the exact same model, two unit. But Apple, I don't think this is very fair to me. Hey, i have a Swollen Battery Issue on my MacBook Pro 13 inch early 2015 model, I found that this link Apple has a free swollen battery replacement program for Early 2015 13" MacBook Pros too! - YouTube got proof that another victim also have a same problem with me with same model, that can get the free Swollen Battery Replacement Program and have stated "the tech told me the program is within 3 years of purchase", but when i contact apple, they only give me answer that my Device is not under the replacement program.
